Chew On This With Chef Andrew: Meet The Chef!

Fri Feb 12 2021

    Hello my cooking friends,

It is my pleasure to be the Culinary Director and Executive Chef for Mountain High Appliance, Colorado’s premier appliance resource for over 27 years. Mountain High Appliance wants you to be comfortable and confident in your new kitchen. That’s why we provide ongoing use and care demonstrations and tasty, informative gatherings to teach the advanced fine dining restaurant technology available now in residential kitchen appliances.

Let me tell you a lot about myself.

I trained at the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel, a five-star and five-diamond resort in Colorado Springs. The Broadmoor Hotel has its own chef’s apprenticeship program in conjunction with the American Culinary Federation. After a three year work-study program under world renowned international chefs, I graduated with a Culinary Certificate. I then stayed on for a year of Pastry Apprenticeship in The Penrose Room, Colorado’s highest rated restaurant.

I then spent a year in Chicago as a Chef Stagiaire, that’s a fancy french term for, “lowly unpaid cook intern who works for the honor of it” to explore and learn the Molecular Gastronomy movement in restaurants Alinea, Moto and North Pond.More recently I worked in the personal chef field doing in-home cooking, cooking class, birthday and anniversary parties and special event catering. I also organize, cook and host dinner fundraisers for local non profit organizations. I enjoy bringing people together over shared meals in a variety community enriching settings.

"I am very passionate about the psychology, science, cooking technology of food. I love sharing that passion with everyone at Mountain High Appliance and our customers." - Chef Andrew

I have travelled from coast to coast learning how to get the most out of home appliances to be able to teach you. Many appliance manufacturers have sent me to learn from their chef trainers and product specialists. I have extensive training in residential and commercial appliance technology performance and end user interface experience.  To date I have gone through official appliance manufacturer training for Miele, Thermador, Bosch, Gaggenau, Sub-Zero Wolf, Jenn Air, Dacor, Viking, BlueStar, Monogram and Rational

I teach about the newest culinary technology and appliance use & care to retail sales staff, architects, and interior/kitchen designers. The goal is to elevate their client interactions with chef driven curriculum on the full array of advanced culinary technologies now available for the modern home kitchen.  I am certified by both the National Kitchen and Bath Association and International Design Continuing Education Council to give accredited Continuing Education Unit presentations in person or via webinar for Interior and Kitchen Designers.

I like to stay busy and love to work with Mountain High Appliance, connecting people with food, and igniting their culinary passion!

Stay safe and have fun out there!
    Happy Cooking,
    Chef Andrew Forlines
